Social Care
Social Care concerns helping people live their lives in a normal way, whatever the reasons which they are currently not able to do so. Common reasons to why people may need social care help is that they are elderly, disabled, have family problems or certain health problems. Social Care workers provide a degree of support to these people, dependent on their individual needs, in order that they are able to maintain as greater degree of independence as possible and even though it may be simple tasks which social workers help people carry out, these tasks are ones which are vital for the individual to live a normal life, without a great degree of upset and distress.
There are a number of differing forms of social workers, these being home care workers, residential workers, personal assistants, community workers and children’s care workers. Home care workers provide support for those in need of help to allow them to remain living in their own home, residential workers provide assistance in care homes to those who, for a variety of reasons are unable to continue living in their own homes, personal assistants work solely on a one-to-one basis with individuals needing varying levels of personal support and community workers work with a variety of people within the community, both adults and children, to ensure they have all the help necessary for them to lead a normal life.
